In 2018, Sidecar Doughnuts started its chef series in which a celebrity chef would create a new doughnut each month. The proceeds from the chef’s doughnut sales go to his or her nonprofit of choice. Now, they’re starting the series up again with Chef Elizabeth Belkind of Cake Monkey Bakery.
This month’s doughnut is called the “monkey munchie”: a delicious combination of banana caramel glaze and a coconut-cacao nib crumble. Topped with caramel and Maldon sea salt, this doughnut is not to be missed. Belkind’s choice of organization is “Ghetto Rescue”, an animal rescue organization. Now you can indulge in your newest sweet treat and feel good about it and there is still time to enjoy this collaboration flavor so get after it!
