Celebrate Pi Day with Pie!

March 14th is Pi Day (3/14). While it is a day created to celebrate the mathematical constant π (the first three numbers of which are 3,1,4), I prefer to celebrate a different kind of pi – pie with an e! So let’s celebrate numbers and math on National Pi Day over some pie shall we?

HiHo Cheeseburger

HiHo Cheeseburger in Santa Monica is one of my favorite spots for pie.  While they’re known for their 100% grassfed Wagyu beef burgers, I can’t leave without a slice of pie! HiHo’s house-made Banana Cream Pie is made fresh daily with bananas, house-made whipped cream and a delicious vanilla wafer crust.Their handmade, made fresh daily Banana Cream Pie is to die four. Pies can be ordered by the slice or whole with just 24 hours notice. To order email Pie@hiho.la .

Fishing with Dynamite

Not only Chef David LaFevre’s Manhattan Beach restaurant Fishing with Dynamite (he also own’s MB Post and The Arthur J) one of my favorite restaurants in LA. While known for serving the most pristine seafood and super fresh oysters shucked to order, it’s also one of my favorite spots for pie because their key lime pie is out of this world. It’s made in house with a graham cracker crust and the most beautiful toasted lime merengue on top! To celebrate Pi Day they’re offering Full Size Pies wih pre-order. Orders must be placed by Monday March 11th for pick up March 14th 11am- 4pm.  Orders can be placed here or via link on our website www.eatfwd.com
